Thanks guys. Yeah I thought it would be cool if you could do that in game.

Made a small update because everyone's raving about the magma glove. glacial gauntlet got jealous :

And I won a request in DA for a chibi version of my mesmer's alternate version. I colored this one. You can see the original lineart in my DA page and who made it:

The ranger pic came out nice. Reminds me a lot of the Prince of Persian game covers. If you do something like this in your next piece, you should push the lighting/color effects even more to really give a sense of the intensity of fire and ice.

Thanks Charlie , I'll take note of that. ^_^

And small update. I colored another lineart I requested for my mesmer. Here's the guy who did the pencils and inks and the original version:

And here's my colored version:

Small update. I am trying to get through my to do list at the moment (Bottom of the page. And yes this is why my commissions are still closed lol)

http://roguemina.deviantart.com/journal/34152385/

And here's one of them (A free request giveaway I posted weeks ago).
Still a WIP. Been awhile since I doodled using traditional stuff. Got some new pointers in coloring and trying out new techniques on this one. Maybe I'll finish it tonight. The user requested an X-Men character and I LOVE Rogue (You can tell by my DA username). So I am pretty psyched about this.

I also need to give her justice with the old crappy drawing I did of her last January hahaha

So here's the new version (Still a WIP):

Can you make Storm too?
Storm is beast!

Anywho, it looks really really good!
Although isn't that too much gray hair, I think she doesn't have that much..

Thanks

Storm is awesome! I can really imagine those cool lightning effects already and storm cloud. It would make for an amazing artwork. *loves the X-Men, the comicbook version and the 90's animated series*.

I'll probably make more X-Men artwork at some point, they are the reason I got into drawing before I even got into anime. Although I can imagine doing a Gambit one first before Storm lol.

On Rogue's white streak, artists usually have creative freedom on how much white/gray they put. I am very much influenced by the Jim Lee version where he drew her with pretty much all white on the top of her head lol.

80's and 90's animated series were awesome, nowadays you get these awful cartoons with squared or triangle heads etc.
So terrible.

I absolutely agree with you! Don't even get me started with X-Men Evolution..though I did watch it solely for the love of X-Men.

I love the 90's X-Men animated series because they introduced me to the X-Men, and the episodes turn out to be very close to their comicbook version. I hated the X-Men movies with the way they portrayed Rogue. In the comics, she almost singlehandedly defeated the Avengers (Avengers Annual #10) and eventually permanently absorbed Ms Marvel's powers before she ran to the X-Men for help because she couldn't handle the personas in her head anymore...not because she was being hunted down by Magneto like a lost puppy -_-"

Uhm thread derailment ftw? lol.

Ouh, X-Men, from the 90s. Someone is after my own heart. Rogue looks fantastic! The Glacial and Destroyer gauntlets clashing fire and ice is just so amazing, too, wow, makes me think Pyro/Iceman. These all bring a smile to my face.

Thank you

Well here's the "finished" version. I will most likely refine it later since it still looks pretty rough. Kind of rushed at the end cos I got too excited lol.

*to lengthen this post*

Finished version of that Rogue drawing:

Just a couple of new pics I did:

Alternate version of a guildmate's ranger:

And Murke's well, Murke! She's got an updated hairstyle because my mesmer told her to pretty up and advised her to let her hair down:

And a WIP:

It's based from a continuation of this storyline (lol this digital drawing looks so outdated). Yes, same four characters but the above WIP is in their re-designed versions:

And finished that WIP above. Mina and Ran are my characters (my mes and ranger respectively) while Sylas and Vale are my friends' (both rangers in GW)

Nice, I like the idea. You should expand a bit more into your color palette to give your paintings a bit more vibrancy to them. Your shading on some parts seem to follow a standard light/medium/dark equation. Play around with your colors a bit more - keep temperature and lighting in mind. Use the same ideas you used in the destroyer-glacial gloves piece more often.

Thanks Charlie! lol, uhm..are you referring to the ambient lighting in the gauntlet piece? (not sure how to word that one)

*wants to make sure so she can take a mental note of it*

Harumph!

I was speaking of the colors you used to signify the change in temperature. You can use that same concept of using warm colors (red, orange, yellow) and cool colors (blue, green, violet) to do both shading and lighting depending on the light source and its intensity.

For example: instead of painting a face with one base color and two other tones derived from the same base, you can mix in either cool or warm colors depending on the situation. It can significantly change the surface of an object from being very plain to vibrant.

Ah okay. Hmm..made some minor changes based on your comment, not sure if it's noticeable lol:

And a couple of non GW related art updates:

I colored this one lineart done by someone else, it's my mesmer's alternate version:

And a sketch for a long overdue free request I owe someone:

I think the most noticeable improvements are on Mina and Vale. Try practicing on a fresh canvas and experiment a bit more with your colors and brush strokes.
